Abstract Art: What is it? What does it mean to abstract something? How does one go about creating it?

Learn the answers and more in this introductory program about abstract art. Students will learn a brief overview of abstract art, its context within art history, and simple techniques to creating art in a non-representational way.

Each week students will explore a different method of creating abstract art. Techniques will include incorporating mixed media, using photos as a reference, and using certain principles and elements of art to get a desired result. All materials are included.
