Intro to Drawing: The Human Head & Body - Thursdays, Starting May 2nd - May 16th from 6:30-8:30PM (3 Classes)
During this 3-week program, students will learn the basics of drawing the human head and body. For the head, we’ll cover mapping out key facial features and main structure planes. For the body, we’ll learn the basic proportions, drawing the body in space, and understanding how muscle groups move to draw the body in a realistic way. The ultimate goal is getting movement, poses and gestures to look natural.
The techniques and methods we use are approachable for beginners and will cover the basic head and body structure and proportions from multiple angles.
What we’ll cover in this class:
Learning proportion and approach to mapping out the features of the face, head and body
Learning to draw “what you see”, not what you “think you see”
Methods of showing 3D objects on a 2D surface
Incorporating perspective and value into your drawing
