During this 3-week program, students will take a reference from either a photo or a still-life and progressively deconstruct the image throughout a series of works. This will result in the paintings becoming more “abstracted” and simplified from one work to the next.

The point of this exercise is to learn the approaches in creating the fundamental illusion of depth, composition, and clarity, as well as to understand the simplest way of conveying the image to a viewer.
