During this 3-week program, students will learn the concept of color value and paint with a limited color palette. Using just black, white, and one other color of their choice, students will paint a still-life. We will learning how to mix different amounts of blacks and whites with the chosen color to create different values of that color in this monochromatic acrylic painting.

We’ll dive deep into discussing how to see value, when to add or omit values, and understand the artistic choices one can make when building a monochromatic image, as well as how values can impact the mood or feeling of a painting.
