Mindful Art: Embroidery Waves - Friday, June 27th from 6:30PM-8:30PM (1 Class)
Class Description:
During this 2-hour mindfulness experience led by our Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, Rachel (see bio below), participants will be gently guided through the soothing process of embroidery while cultivating mindfulness and body awareness. In honor of Mental Health Awareness, this special session invites you to “ride the waves and find your sunshine” through a symbolic art project depicting a wave and sun—representing life’s highs and lows and the resilience to find hope and joy even in challenging times. Learn basic embroidery stitches and customize your design to create a one-of-a-kind, meaningful piece that reflects your own journey.
Instructor’s Bio:
Rachel is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist and Mental Health Professional. Rachel has experience working with all ages across various populations, including those with trauma, developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and anxiety/depression. Rachel’s therapeutic approach includes mindfulness and wellness in combination with art as a means for expression. Art therapy approaches can be used outside of the therapeutic setting as a means of self-care and self-expression. These approaches and techniques can be shared in various workshops for all skill levels and all ages!
