Intro to Pottery: Tea Light Candle Holder - Tuesdays, December 3rd - December 17th from 7:30PM-9PM (3 Classes)
During this 3-week introductory pottery program, students will hand-build a tea light candle holder with air-dry clay as they learn foundational pottery techniques, including slab-building. Start by creating the base of your candle holder and understanding the essentials of clay preparation, wedging, and centering.
Develop your candle holder further by practicing the skills of scratching, scoring, and slipping. You'll also explore adding texturing, decorative elements, and special carvings or engravings to personalize your design.
Once your candle holder has dried, paint it using a variety of techniques and colors. We’ll then apply Mod Podge to seal the paint. Lastly we’ll finish with a discussion on how to care for and display your finished piece.
All materials are provided. No prior experience is necessary, just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!
Completed items will not be food or dishwasher safe.
