In this traditional Japanese textile art form, students will create vibrant, textured compositions by tucking fabric scraps into grooves carved into a flat surface. Over two sessions, students will develop their design and carefully layer fabrics to create a detailed, mosaic-like image that blends the look of a quilt and a painting.
Project will be done on an 8×10 base and students will choose from various reference examples in class.
