Our Story
Art Studio owners Danielle & Mike with their family
The Art Studio has called Rockville Centre home for more than 25 years. When we took over the studio in 2022, we were stepping into a dream we had talked about for years. By combining Danielle's background as an art educator with Mike's experience growing organizations, we wanted to create the kind of community space we would want for our own family.
Our vision is simple: Creativity grows best when students feel truly seen and supported.
We’ve built a space where students are known by name and learning goes beyond simply following instructions. At our studio, a child can discover confidence, a teen can find belonging, and an adult can reconnect with a part of themselves that has been waiting patiently beneath the demands of everyday life.
We believe art education should be both meaningful and accessible. It should be fun without being shallow, structured without being intimidating, and rooted in the belief that creativity flourishes when students feel connected to their work and environment. That's why we teach not only techniques, but also the stories, cultures, and ideas behind the work. We want students to understand not only how art is made, but why it matters.
Over the years, we've expanded beyond traditional fine art classes, growing into a creative community that welcomes artists of every age and experience level. Through every decision we make, we put our students first. Sometimes that means choosing what's right for our students over what's easiest for the business. It means being flexible, treating families fairly, investing in great teachers, and always asking what is best for our students before asking what is best for us.
Because at the end of the day, we're offering more than art classes. We're creating a place where students can learn, belong, and grow.
That commitment doesn’t stop at the studio door. We're proud to support our area through local partnerships, charitable initiatives, and creative outreach programs that bring families together through art.
Below are a few examples of Our Impact with work we're honored to have been part of alongside the community that has supported us throughout the years. We're incredibly grateful to be part of this community, and we hope The Art Studio becomes a small part of your family's story as well.
