Our Story

Danielle, Mike, & Kids

For more than 25 years, The Art Studio has been a cornerstone of the Rockville Centre community. When we took over the studio in 2022, we were stepping into a dream we had talked about for years. By combining Danielle's background as an art educator with Mike's experience building organizations, we wanted to create the kind of community space we would want for our own family.

Our vision is simple: creativity grows best when students feel truly seen and supported.

We’ve built a space where students are known by name, and where learning goes deeper than just following instructions on a project. At our studio, a child can discover confidence, a teen can find belonging, and an adult can reconnect with a part of themselves that has been waiting patiently beneath the demands of everyday life.

We believe art education should be both meaningful and accessible. It should be fun without being shallow, structured without being intimidating, and rooted in the understanding that creativity flourishes when students feel connected to their work and environment. That's why we teach not only techniques, but also the stories, cultures, and ideas behind the work. We want students to learn how art is made and why it matters.

Over the years, we've expanded far beyond traditional fine art classes, growing into a creative community that welcomes artists of every age and experience level. Through every decision we make, we put our students first. Sometimes that means doing things that aren't the smartest business decisions on paper. It means being flexible, treating families fairly, investing in great teachers, and always asking what is best for our students before asking what is best for us.

Because at the end of the day, we're creating more than artists. We're creating a place where students can learn, belong, and grow.

That commitment extends far beyond our studio walls. We're proud to support our area through local partnerships, charitable initiatives, and creative outreach programs that bring families together through art.

Below are a few examples of Our Impact which we're honored to have alongside the community that has supported us throughout the years. We are incredibly grateful to be on this journey, and we hope our studio becomes a part of your story, too.
