The Art Studio teaches students from under age 5 through adults. Weekly programs are grouped by age — Parent & Me for under 5, Kids for ages 5–8, Tweens and Teens for ages 9–16, and separate adult classes that include fine art, experimental art, pottery wheel, sewing, and mosaics. Specialty kids programs like Fashion & Sewing (6–12), Comics & Storytelling (9–12), and Digital Art (9–16) have their own age ranges.
-
No experience is required for any class at The Art Studio. Instructors work with each student individually, so beginners and returning artists can sit in the same room and both be appropriately challenged.
-
Yes — the studio offers trial classes for purchase so you can experience a class before enrolling for a full month. This is the easiest way to see whether the age group, instructor, and studio environment are the right fit. Contact the studio to reserve a trial spot in the class you're considering.
Clases & Programs
-
Kids' weekly classes (ages 5–8) explore painting, sculpture, and mixed media while building creative confidence. Along with technique, students learn about the cultures, artists, and styles behind the projects they make. Classes meet once per week for 1 hour and 45 minutes. The studio holds an annual Student Art Show each June showcasing student work from the year.
-
Tween and teen classes (ages 9–16) go deeper into painting, sculpture, and mixed media, alongside the historical context and diverse artists behind major art movements. A separate drawing-focused track teaches perspective, value, and line work as a foundation for personal style. Both meet once per week. The studio holds an annual Student Art Show each June showcasing student work from the year.
-
Yes — the Parent & Me sensory art program is designed for children under 5 with a caregiver participating alongside them. It's an introduction to materials, color, and making, geared to little hands and short attention spans.
-
Adults can join weekly classes in oil painting, plus rotating workshops and mini-series in drawing, watercolor, acrylic, pottery wheel, sewing, and mosaics. Classes are designed for beginners to intermediate students, and approach is modified based on skill level and experience. The various adult classes run during the evenings from Monday through Thursday, with select Friday and Sunday evenings.
-
Paint & Sip is a relaxed, one-session class for adults 21 and over, where an instructor guides the group step by step through a single painting. No painting experience is needed, and you're welcome to bring your own snacks and beverage. It works equally well for a night out with friends, a date, or coming solo.

Enrollment, Pricing & Scheduling
-
Enrollment for weekly classes is ongoing, and students can join at any point during the month. You don't need to wait for a September start or a new session to begin. You can sign up online mid-month or contact the studio to check availability if something looks sold out online. The studio is flexible with scheduling.
-
Weekly classes are billed as a monthly fee covering four classes, intended to be taken consecutively. Your next month is charged only once all four prior classes have been used and the student attends a following class. There is no separate supply fee — materials are built into the monthly rate.
-
Yes — the studio offers a sibling discount and options for students who want more than one class per week. This is a common setup for families with two kids in different age groups. Check the website for the class you’re interested in for current rates.
-
For regular weekly classes missed classes can be made up at the next available class. The same applies to classes skipped because of a scheduled studio closure. Make-up classes keep families from losing value when illness, travel, or a school conflict comes up.
-
Weekly class start dates and closures generally follow the public school calendar from September through June. Regular classes pause during Winter, Mid-Winter, and Spring Break, and resume afterward. The studio runs separate workshops during those breaks, which are not covered by the monthly fee.
-
No — unused weekly classes at the end of June do not carry forward into the following September, and they can't be applied to the Summer Program or other workshops. Summer packages work the same way and expire at the end of the Summer Program. Plan your purchases with the end of each season in mind.
-
Class payments are non-refundable, and prices are subject to change. If the studio cancels a class due to weather or another unforeseen event, purchased classes roll to the following week or are held as credit. Refunds are offered when the studio can't reschedule a class or the student can't attend the rescheduled date.
Logistics & Policies
-
No — all materials are provided and the cost is already factored into the class fee. Students should wear clothing that can handle paint, ink, and clay.
-
Parents and guardians are responsible for drop-off and pick-up at the scheduled start and end of class. If you need to drop off early or pick up late, notify studio staff in advance. Artwork left behind is recycled if it isn't picked up within three months.
-
Families are asked to disclose allergies and medical conditions on the sign-up form so staff can take reasonable precautions. The studio is not an allergen-free environment, and exposure to allergens such as nuts is possible. Reach out directly before enrolling if your child has a severe allergy.
