Class Description:
Tweens will explore the art of comic creation, developing stories and characters from initial ideas to finished comic books. Through guided projects, students will learn the process behind creating comics, including concept development, character design, storyboarding, sketching, and inking.
Students will be grouped by age and skill level, allowing beginners to build foundational skills while returning and intermediate artists continue expanding their storytelling and drawing techniques. Throughout the process, students will collaborate on brainstorming ideas while developing their own original characters, plots, and creative direction.
By the end of the class, each student will complete a finished comic book and have the opportunity to share their story with the group. Each new comics series offers a fresh creative challenge, with returning students exploring new techniques, developing new characters, and pushing their storytelling skills further.
